Adult First Aid Certification Facilitator Led December 7, 2017
12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Bloomsburg University This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to emergencies and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until advanced medical help arrives. The content includes checking an ill or injured person, care for shock, sudden illness (fainting, diabetic emergencies, seizures, stroke, poisoning, heat or cold related emergencies), bleeding, burns and fractures. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive an authorized certificate from the American Red Cross, which is valid for 2 years. The class will be located in the Waller Administration Building, Room 38A.

Diabetes Prevention Program Informational Session Facilitator Led October 17, 2017

West Chester University Due to the success of the first group and request for a new session, WCU will be offering its second Diabetes Prevention Program this fall. If you have been told you have prediabetes or are at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, this CDC-recognized lifestyle change program is for you. Participating in this program can help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, lower your risk of having a heart attack or stroke, improve your health overall, and help you feel more energetic. The DPP is a yearlong intervention (both in person and online) and will be overseen by faculty and students from the Nutrition and Exercise Science departments in the College of Health Sciences.
