Adult First Aid Certification Facilitator Led March 1, 2017

Bloomsburg University This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to emergency situations and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until advanced medical help arrives. The content includes: checking an ill or injured person, care for shock, sudden illness (fainting, diabetic emergencies, seizures, stroke, poisoning, heat or cold related emergencies), bleeding, burns and fractures. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive an authorized certificate from the American Red Cross which is valid for 2 years. The class will be located in Waller Administration Building, Room 38A.

West Chester University For the first time, WCU will be offering the Diabetes Prevention Program, a CDC-recognized lifestyle change program. If you have been told that you have prediabetes or are at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, this program is for you. Participating in this program can help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, lower your risk of having a heart attack or stroke, improve your health overall, and help you feel more energetic. The DPP is a yearlong intervention following CDC-approved curriculum (both in person and online) and will be overseen by faculty and students from the Nutrition and Exercise Science departments in the College of Health Sciences.
